All About My Book

Cooper is a little boy, and his Mum has a disability which can sometimes be invisible to others.
It is called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
These books are explained from the prospective of a child who lives with a parent with an invisible disability.
He explains in his words how his life is affected by having a parent with a disability.
This is an exciting new range of books to raise awareness to F.N.D, also any other invisible disabilities people live with each day.

For a large proportion of Australians living with disability, the physical, mental and emotional effects may be severe but sometimes you can’t see them.

These can include chronic pain and fatigue, dizziness, cognitive dysfunctions, brain injuries, hearing and vision impairments, learning differences or mental health disorders, autism or Asperger’s, an adult recovering from a brain injury, or someone undergoing treatment for a chronic autoimmune disorder.
Millions of Australians live with a disability – and a surprising 90% of these people have what’s called an invisible disability.
But there are many disabilities and conditions that are counted as ‘invisible’, such as MS, autism, ADHD, arthritis, brain injuries, mental illnesses, diabetes, epilepsy, cognitive and learning disabilities, FND, chronic pain and fatigue… and the list goes on.
Please note that all F.N.D sufferers have different symptoms, apologies if the wording in the book offends anyone, but it is meant to explain in a child’s humour and language to help them understand.
